Here's an illustration of my weight taken EVERY DAY for the last 30 days. (Two pics, so swipe)⠀ ⠀ Look how many times my weight went UP and DOWN.⠀ ⠀ Now look at the TREND from the first day to the last.⠀ ⠀ Notice anything?⠀ ⠀ Fat loss is not linear.⠀ ⠀ Fat loss is NOT linear.⠀ ⠀ I am going to say it once more for those in the back.⠀ ⠀ FAT LOSS IS NOT LINEAR!!!⠀ ⠀ When people get on the scale, they often judge their progress based on the last time they weighed themselves. ⠀ ⠀ Then when they see their weight spike, they think whatever they are doing to lose weight is not working and they get frustrated and...⠀ ⠀ They GIVE UP!⠀ ⠀ THIS IS THE WRONG WAY TO USE THE SCALE.⠀ ⠀ You need to take emotion out of it and realize that your weight will fluctuate everyday.⠀ ⠀ It's a snapshot in time. ⠀ ⠀ (It's kind of like the stock market. You don't check your stocks every day and then get excited or upset over daily fluctuations. You look at the trend over time.)⠀ ⠀ Your weight could vary due to MANY reasons:⠀ ⠀ ✅ What time of day it is⠀⠀ ✅ If you need to poop⠀⠀ ✅ If you ate salt or carbs the day before⠀⠀ ✅ If you are on meds⠀⠀ ✅ If you are about to start or are on your period⠀⠀ ✅If you are stressed⠀⠀ ✅ If you just drank a lot of water⠀⠀ ✅If you used a different scale⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ These things have NOTHING to do with fat loss. ⠀⠀ ⠀ Even if I would have weighed myself once a week, depending on the days I chose, I still could have gotten two high numbers (or low numbers) and have not been able to see the true trend.⠀ ⠀ The longer time you have to compare the data the better. Month to month is best. ⠀ Weighing yourself everyday is not for everyone. ⠀ ⠀ AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WEIGH YOURSELF AT ALL.⠀ ⠀ But if you choose to use the scale, just realize it's just data, and like any science experiment, you are looking for the trend.⠀ ⠀ SO DON'T GIVE UP!⠀ ⠀ Oh, and If you want to track your weight everyday to see fluctuations in a graph like this and look at the trend, download the app "weight guru".)⠀ ⠀ Need help? Lemme know!⠀ Love you!⠀
